Young Babysitters in Britain

Jill Rutter and Ben Evans

In the UK many families use informal childcare provided by relatives, friends, paid babysitters and unregistered nannies, yet research on this issue is very limited. To fill this knowledge gap Daycare Trust is undertaking a major research project on informal care, funded by the Big Lottery Fund. Young Babysitters in Britain is the second research paper which focuses on a particular issue in relation to informal childcare, with a previous report focusing on grandparents.
