Weekly Wednesday play sessions every Wednesday between 10am-12.30pm

Come along for engaging child-centred play sessions, to see the site, meet local parents and hear more about our plans for the building.

What is Parent-led childcare?

Parent-led childcare is not for profit childcare designed and co-delivered by parents, for parents.

Coram Family and Childcare, the New Economics Foundation and Peabody are working together to increase the amount of parent-led childcare in the country - and making it easier for parents to set up a nursery led by local families.

What is happening on the Vanguard Estate?

Parent-led childcare is coming to the Vanguard Estate. We want to develop a not-for-profit nursery for children aged two to five that will be parent-led and work for the benefit of local families.

In January 2020, we will be reopening the nursery on Albyn Street and we are looking for local parents to get involved. This is your chance to join together with other parents to design the right childcare for your community.

Why should you get involved?

  • Chance to design a service that meets the needs of you and your neighbours
  • Get involved in your local community
  • Learn more about supporting children’s early learning
  • Build your skills and experience

Get involved

Over the next few weeks, we are going to be running a series of music and play sessions. They are open to all families in the local community with children under 5. Parents can chat over tea and coffee with us and each other, while children enjoy creative play, activities and musical instruments! These fun and exciting sessions are a great way to meet other local families and find out how you can get involved.
