You are here: News Response to Damian Hind's speech on social mobility
In response to the Secretary of State for Education, Damian Hinds', speech on social mobility today, Dr Carol Homden CBE, said:
Damian Hinds has correctly identified the importance of the early years in shaping life chances. It is a laudable aim to halve the number of children falling behind in the early years and we look forward to seeing the action that will achieve this.
Coram Family and Childcare’s parent-led research found that high quality early years services are valued by families, helping them to improve their parenting and strengthen community relationships. We need these services to be prioritised to support families and social mobility through a strategy that puts at its heart the right services and support that allow children and parents to thrive.
