The Family and Parenting Institute, in partnership with the Campaign for Learning, set out to identify what nurseries and other early-years settings can do to better help parents support their children’s learning at home. The research, funded by the then Department for Children, Schools and Families, aimed to identify which strategies are most effective to support parents to give their child the strongest educational start in life. The findings identify best practice, help quantify the benefits of supporting parents and suggest how to make best use of resources at a time of financial constraint.
