Parent Champions conference 2014
The first ever Parent Champions conference took place on 27 March 2014.
The Parent Champions conference is held every year to celebrate the achievements of Parent Champions. The conference is attended by members of the Parent Champions National Network and usually features a high-profile speaker. The conference gives attendees an opportunity to learn more from the experiences of local schemes and hear about the wider national context for Parent Champions.
We heard from a guest speaker, Ruth Shinoda, Deputy Director for Early Years Funding, Department for Education, on the role of outreach and peer-to-peer support for reaching families who are eligible for the free childcare places for two-year-olds. The programme was packed with workshops and panel debates.
