Parent Champions at Work
Parent Champions at Work helps parents to manage their working and caring responsibilities and get the support they are entitled to. This helps employers to keep a diverse workforce and retain the skills, experience and commitment of parent employees.
How does it work?
Coram Family and Childcare supports employers to recruit employees to volunteer as Parent Champions. As parents themselves, Parent Champions use their own experiences, and our high quality training and resources, to share information about childcare and being a working parent in a clear and relevant way.
Parent Champions is very good just for the fact that I think most of us prefer to speak to parents. There are a lot of people that just don't know what's out there, or are afraid to ask.
Why Parent Champions?
Parent Champions have been helping parents access, understand and digest vital information about accessing childcare and family services for over ten years. Being parents themselves, they can share their own positive experiences in a relatable, trusted and informal way, building confidence and overcoming barriers to service use.

What’s included in the Parent Champions at Work package?
We can work with small or large employers to design a bespoke package that works for you and your workplace. The package could include:
- Support with programme set up and recruitment of Parent Champions
- Training for the Parent Champions Coordinator
- Training for Parent Champions
- Provision of resources and factsheets for Parent Champions and employees
- Ongoing support to the Parent Champions Coordinator
- Membership to the Parent Champions National Network
- Monitoring and evaluation to support corporate responsibility and diversity reporting
