You are here: Parent Champions for Employability
Parent Champions for Employability supports parents and carers to start getting ready for work through linking them to services that can help build their skills for the workplace through training or volunteering and find work through improving their CV and job search skills.
How does it work?
Parent Champions are parent volunteers who give a few hours a week to talk to other parents about childcare and other local services available to families. Parent Champions for Employability support parents and carers by signposting them to local services that can help with looking for employment. They will also support parents to access their free early education and other childcare support to give them the time to get ready for or enter education or employment.
Why Parent Champions?
Parent Champions for Employability volunteers are parents and carers who are in employment or education and whose family have benefitted from early education. They can use their own positive experience of applying for childcare and returning to work to support other parents do the same. They often meet with local parents at schools, children’s centres, job centres, supermarkets, leisure centres, doctor surgeries, libraries and community get togethers.
