You are here: News Our response to the Charity Commission report
In December last year, an MP made a complaint to the Charity Commission about our activity on Twitter, suggesting that some tweets amounted to party political activity. As a charity we have to be completely politically neutral. Today’s report from the Charity Commission concludes that we have not broken any of its rules or guidance.
Anand Shukla, Chief Executive of the Family and Childcare Trust, commented:
“The Family and Childcare Trust exists to improve the lives of children and families in the UK through robust research and campaigning on issues such as affordable childcare. We are politically neutral and work with individuals and organisations from across the political spectrum to meet our charitable aims. We welcome the Charity Commission’s unequivocal statement that Family and Childcare Trust has been operating in accordance with its guidance and procedures, and we will continue to campaign to make sure children and families have what they need to thrive.”
