You are here: News Family and Childcare Trust and Netmums announce new partnership

The Family and Childcare Trust and Netmums have joined forces to launch a new programme of activity looking into the essential issues affecting families across the UK.

Taking the form of a series of spotlight studies, the new partnership will see Family and Childcare Trust’s research and evaluation expertise combine with Netmums’ extensive understanding and appreciation of the key issues being felt by families up and down the country. Crucial issues to be covered include holiday childcare, flexible working, parental leave, childcare for younger and older children, and the Family and Childcare Trust’s Family Report Card which explores how family friendly we are as a nation.

Findings drawn from surveys and interaction with parents will be published in comprehensive reports designed to engage with families, employers, and government.

Anand Shukla, Chief Executive of the Family and Childcare Trust, said:

“I am delighted that this partnership has been created, and excited about working with Netmums. Their unique insight into parent opinion makes them ideal partners and will allow us to fully engage with the fundamental issues. “Childcare and family policy are becoming increasingly important topics, and are now taking their rightful place at the centre of political discussion. Our joint work with Netmums will play an integral role in informing and shaping this debate for the benefit of parents and families across the UK. “

Julia McGinley of Netmums added:

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the views of parents to be fully heard. We frequently speak to families who are facing uncertainty and great financial pressures in their lives, both at home and at work. This partnership allows the voices of parents to be properly appreciated. “We are thrilled to be working with the Family and Childcare Trust, and welcome their extensive experience of research and advocacy in this essential landscape.”

The partnership launches with two surveys asking families for their views on holiday childcare and flexible working. The surveys can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/summerholschildcare and https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/nmfamilyfriendly
